Accessing Resonance. . .

Welcome to the Resonance. At least, my end of it. Everybody's got their own way of reaching out to it. For me, it's this fountain of code. For others, it's the scent of spraycan letting them enter a meditative state. Others? Maybe they just look it up. You'll learn your way, or maybe you won't even need a way. But for now, I want you to reach in and find a friend/code/Sprite.

Don't panic. It's just like Threading. Take the Resonance, that power that forms your Complexes, externalize it. Let it look, let it make.

You can see it, can't you? What the Sprite is, how strong it is? That's the difficulty. Now, make a Compile + Resonance roll. You have to make enough hits to at least match the rating to succeed. Every hit after that are the tasks you can give it.

Also, keep in mind that once you Compile the Sprite, you'll need to resist Fading. When it's a Sprite, the amount of Fade to resist is twice the rolls you get. Ready? Steel yourself, take a deep breath. Now, take your hand out of the Resonance, and see what it gave you.

Simulating Stats... [Compile:3], [Res:2], (Difficulty:2). Rolling... 5,5,2;6,1. Hits: 3. Net Hits: 1.

Warning. Fading Resist Test in Progress. [Willpower:5], [Res:2], (Difficulty:6). Rolling... 6,2,6,3,6;2,4. Hits: 3. Damage: 3 Stun.

There it is. Nothing too impressive, but it'll be invaluable. Don't mind it warping like it does. It's unregistered, it wants to become resonance again, and it will become resonance in about eight hours. I won't teach you how to register it yet. It's a blank, it isn't specialized like any of the real Sprites you'll use. Keep in mind, an unregistered sprite like this is extremely limited. It has to be on the same node as you, it will melt back into resonance over time, and will also melt away the moment after you tell it to work on a remote task. This doesn't mean they're useless, though. Just understand that you won't last long if you only make your Sprites as you need them.

Sadly, I can't teach you much else here. There'll be more tutorials once we go into detail. Rest up, and return to the home node.
